2010 Annual Conference in Spokane
IIABW had a successful Annual Conference at the Davenport Hotel in late September which offered participants great networking opportunities, excellent education sessions, fun entertainment, as well as the opportunity to walk through our association's 100 years. IIABW's top honor, the Don C. Burnam Lifetime Achievement award, was presented to Ed Ray of Conover Insurance for his 62 years of service in the insurance industry.

Michael Rydbom was presented the Agent of the Year award for his leadership as State National Director to IIABA and member of the national Trusted Choice Committee.

Bill Stauffacher was given the Industry Person of the Year award for his work in helping insurance agents being one of the only professional services to avoid a B & O tax increase last session.

Rocky Skalisky of Martin Morris was presented the Max Walton Insurance Education award for his 25 years of service to the Chelan/Douglas Co. local association coordinating monthly education seminars.

The Young Agents of the Year Award was given to Brian Fassburg of Pacific International Underwriters for his advancement of the Young Agent Committee.
John McDonald assumed the position of President. John owns McDonald McGarry Insurance Brokers with his wife, Sandy. He was awarded IIABW's Young Agent of the Year in 1986 and served as President of Snohomish County local Big I in 2004. Darren McEuin, CIC, of Conover was elected President Elect. Darren has worked in the insurance industry for over 17 years. He serves as a member of his Chamber of Commerce, Rotary, the local Home Builders Association and teaches students in Junior Achievement. Mary Stien was elected Secretary Treasurer. She is Parker Smith & Feek's Personal Insurance Manager and has been a partner with the firm since 1997.
At the Opening General Session, IIABW's Past Presidents took participants on a journey through the 100 year history of IIABW and the insurance industry in Washington. Their script has been printed in the latest issue of Big I Washington magazine - the Centennial Issue.
